Glenn Dobbs was Tulsa’s first consensus All-American. Dobbs signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers of the All-American Football Conference and instantly became a success. The Dodgers traded Dobbs to the Los Angeles Dons in 1947. He led the conference in total offence, and set a single season records for professional football with 369 pass attempts and 185 completions in 1948. Dobbs returned to the University of Tulsa in 1955 as athletics director. He became head football coach in 1961 and served until 1968. His teams led the nation in passing from 1962-1966.
