Greg Pruitt made a name for himself while playing halfback at the University of Oklahoma. His 9.41 yards per rushing attempt in 1971 is an NCAA record. He earned consensus All-American honors in 1971 and 1972, and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1971 and second in 1972. Pruitt was drafted in the second round by the Cleveland Browns in 1973. He also played for the Los Angeles Raiders during his professional career.
