Jerry Shipp attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University from 1955-1959. He was a three time All-Conference player, and twice led the conference in scoring. He is one of only seven U.S. basketball players to represent the U.S. in all three major international tournaments: Olympics (Gold Medal -1964), World Games (Silver Medal -1963), and Pan-American Games (Gold Medal -1963). He was the leading scorer on all three of these teams and was captain of the Olympic team. Shipp played five years for the Phillips 66 basketball team. He was named three times to the AAU All-American team and the National Industrial League All-Star team.
