2014 Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Winner Gerod Holliman, University of Louisville
PAYCOM JIM THORPE AWARD
Gerod Holliman of Louisville, the 2014 Jim Thorpe Award Winner tied the NCAA record set in 1968 by Al Worley with 14 interceptions this year and is only the 11th player in NCAA history to record 12 or more interceptions in a season. He is one of the main reasons why the Cardinals ranked in the top 10 in both pass efficiency defense and total defense. Holliman was also named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award.
Holliman won the 2014 Thorpe Award over finalists Landon Collins from Alabama and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu of Oregon. Holliman is the second player from the ACC to be chosen as a Thorpe Award winner. The previous winner was Terrell Buckley in 1991.
